Mid-Century Modern Addition

The owner of a classic 1950’s modern house wished to add a second floor with guest bedrooms, a bunk room, recreation room, an office, and an outdoor dining terrace while totally preserving the iconic first floor period architecture. The resulting fully compatible design was approved by the Architectural Review Board of Chautauqua Institution. The second floor covered terrace with adjacent kitchen, office, and recreation room is provided with a dramatic view of Chautauqua Lake.
