The problem
The county’s court buildings dated from the 1960s and were outdated.

Chautauqua County’s court facilities in Mayville dated from the 1960s and were outdated. The project remodeled them and added to them.
It ran over several years. The work included new utilities across the whole site and energy saving upgrades, along with new parking and new public spaces. A new entrance now stands in front of the older office building, under a low curved roof.
Security, easy access, how well the buildings work, and how people move through them were high priorities throughout.
