A farmhouse built around one big room.
From the outside this is a plain white farmhouse: vertical board siding, dark window frames, a dark roof, and a covered porch on wood posts across the front. A second porch sits off the back, and the garage is tucked onto one end under its own peaked roof.
Inside, the middle of the house is a single great room open to the roof. Exposed wood beams carry a white plank ceiling, and a stone fireplace runs the full height of the room. Living, dining, and the front door all share the space, with high windows up in the end wall bringing light down from above.
The kitchen sits at one end under the same ceiling. A long island faces the room, dark wood cabinets line the walls, and a row of windows over the sink looks out through the back porch.
