New uses for old buildings give a city block new life.
The Thurston Block is a row of 1860s townhouses on East Fourth Street in the Downtown Jamestown Historic District. Over three phases the townhouses were completely renovated into ground-floor commercial spaces with studio apartments above, one building at a time as the money and the tenants allowed. Every phase was approved as preserving the historic character of the townhouses.
Don Harrington was architect, owner, and developer on this one.
