This page explains what Harrington Architecture does with the information people give through this website, in plain terms. The firm does not sell anyone’s information, and does not share it with anyone who is not helping run the practice or the website.
What this site collects
There are three places on this site where someone can type something in, and nothing is collected unless a person chooses to fill one of them out.
- The project inquiry forms, on the homepage and on the Start a project page. These ask for a name, an email address, a phone number, and whatever the person wants to say about the project.
- The review form, on the Leave a review page. This takes a name, an email address, and the review itself.
- The site search box. What people type into it is recorded, without any name attached, so the firm can see what visitors are looking for.
Like every website, this one also keeps basic visit records through its host: the pages opened, the rough location a visit came from, the browser used, and the date and time. Those records are not tied to a name.
Why it is collected
- To answer a question or talk about a project someone is considering.
- To publish a review on the site, which only happens with the reviewer’s knowledge, since they wrote it to be published.
- To see which pages and searches are useful, and fix the ones that are not.
Filling out a form does not sign anyone up for a mailing list. The firm does not send marketing email from this site.
Who sees it
Inquiries and reviews go to Harrington Architecture. Moovlin, the company that builds and maintains this website, can also see them, because the forms and the website run through systems it manages. Nobody else receives them.
Two outside services are involved in running the site itself. The site is hosted on WordPress.com, so the host holds the visit records described above. Google tools are connected to measure traffic and search performance, which means Google receives standard visit information such as pages viewed and how a visitor arrived.
Cookies
This site uses small files called cookies for two things: keeping the site working as someone moves through it, and counting visits through the Google tools above. Any browser can block or delete cookies in its settings, and the site still works with them off.
How long things are kept
Inquiries are kept as long as they are useful to the firm, since a conversation about a building can restart years later. Reviews are kept while they are published. Anyone can ask to have their own information removed.
Asking to see or remove your information
Anyone can ask what the firm holds about them, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. The firm will do it. Write to contact@harrington-architecture.com or call (716) 489-8338.
Photographs of projects
The project photographs on this site are published with the owners’ knowledge. Houses are shown by project, not by address, and the map on the Projects page places homes at the town level rather than at the house. If you own a building shown here and would rather it came down, say so and it will come down.
Children
This site is meant for people hiring an architect. It is not directed at children, and the firm does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
