The family lake house needed more space for gatherings and grandchildren.
Room for the grandchildren, in the house the family already knows.
This lakefront property has been in the same family for many years. It needed to work better for family gatherings and for grandchildren, and that meant more space.
It also called for care. The look of the house had to be kept, and so did the rooms that hold the family’s memories. The solution was to add rooms that fit the structure and the style of the house, rather than rework what was already there.
A great room and a large bedroom suite were added on the lake side and blended into the existing spaces. Large windows let plenty of natural light into the new rooms and open a dramatic view toward Chautauqua Lake.
